New Candidate Clinic Information
Do you want to become a HS girls basketball official in Westchester/Putnam County? If so, the WPWBOA is offering a clinic for new candidates starting in September, 2026.
Requirements: All candidates must:
• Be 18 years of age or older and
• Either reside or work in Westchester or Putnam county. Proof of residency/employment location will be required. Additionally, students who attend college in Westchester or Putnam county are eligible as well (proof of enrollment required).
• Candidates are strongly encouraged to attend all classroom sessions. In addition, candidates must be in good physical condition and attendance at floor sessions and scrimmage practices is STRONGLY recommended. Attendance at the classroom sessions and floor sessions does not guarantee certification. Candidates must also pass the mandatory NYS closed book written exam which is given on Monday, November 9th, as well as pass a floor examination on either November 27th or 28th.

Baseball Umpires Fall Certification Class

The WCBUA will hold a Fall Certification Class for new Umpires on October 20, 22, 27 & 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the West Harrison Senior Center (251 Underhill Ave. West Harrison NY)

* A great way to supplement your income.
* Opens doors to work other local summer and fall leagues.
Successful completion of the in-person class and an online component will give the candidate WCBUA membership and eligibility to umpire high school baseball games in Westchester and Putnam in the spring of 2027. The 2026 Section One Boys Basketball Tournament brackets were finalized today. Attached are the matchups for all five tournaments. This year's challengers will compete for the gold ball, with all boys and girls championship games slated for March 6-8, 2026 at the Westchester County Center.

North Rockland (Class AA) and Bronxville (Class C) swept the boys and girls Section One Indoor Track & Field Championships in their respective classifications at The Armory on Feb. 15. Cheers to all of today's newly-crowned Section One champs!
Rockland County schools swept the Section One Class A and B Indoor Track & Field Championships at The Armony on Feb. 15 Congratulations to Suffern, Nanuet and Pearl River on their success!
Scarsdale's Stella Van Arsdale earned Skimeister honors at the Feb. 10 2026 Girls Skiing Championships. Stella also took first in the Giant Slalom, while Margaret Roseberry of Mamaroneck took first in the Slalom.
Brewster's Derrick Crivelli earned Skimeister honors at the Feb. 10 Boys Skiing Championships. Derrick took first in the Giant Slalom and Slalom races.
In a tight battle at Felix Festa Middle School on Feb. 10, Mamaroneck was crowned as the victor of Section One's 2026 Boys Swimming Championship. Way to go, Tigers!
Arlington (Division 1) and Pearl River (Division 2) emerged as team champions at the Feb. 10 Section One Boys Bowling Championships. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to Fishkill Bowl for hosting this two-day event!
Congratulations to the Horace Greeley boys and Mamaroneck girls, who earned the team titles at Hunter Mountain in the 2026 Section One Boys & Girls Skiing Championships.
It was a Rockland County sweep Feb. 9 at the Section One Girls Bowling Championships! North Rockland captured the Division 1 title, while Nanuet earned the team crown in Division 2.
Congratulations to the Putnam Valley Tigers, who earned the team title at the 2026 Girls Wrestling Championships! Putnam Valley produced four individual champions during the Feb. 9 event at the Westchester County Center.
Yorktown captured the Section One Division 1 team title on Feb. 9 at the 2026 Boys Wrestling Championships at the Westchester County Center. Congratulations to the Huskers!
Congrats to Clarkstown's Khloe Henshaw, who captured the All-Around title at the 2026 Section One Gymnastics Championships on Feb. 8. Gymnasts from Suffern, Wappingers, Tappan Zee and Lakeland-Panas joined Henshaw on the podium.
On Feb. 7 at the Westchester County Center, Pearl River earned the Division 2 title at the Boys Wrestling Championships. Congratulations to the Pirates!
